Over time, runoff and yard waste have filled Silver Lake with sediment, threatening water quality, wildlife, and recreation.
Our 2018 dredge cost $175,000 to remove 8,458 cubic yards — savings made possible by storing sediment onsite. Future dredging will cost far more. For example, Murphey Candler Lake’s 2020 dredge cost $1.5 million to remove just 38% more due to off-site disposal.
Our goal is to raise $500,000 before contracting a lake dredging services firm.
Help us restore the heart of our nature preserve — together.
